Companies Show Support As Planning Decision Looms

Pendower Hall, the Grade II listed building in Benwell, Newcastle is awaiting a planning decision this week that could shape the future of a number of companies who have pledged allegiance to the plans.

In just the last week a number of companies including Cascade Cash Management, Dinosauria, and Invenium have followed in the footsteps of the SME Centre of Excellence to sign up to have first choice as business tenants for the expected office space.

Since the announcement of the purchase of the iconic building, extensive public consultation and liaison with the council has been ongoing to refine the designs for refurbishing and adapting the former home of the Pease family into a business campus, alongside the Grand Hall extension perfect for conference and banqueting.

Dr Emma Black. MD of Cascade Cash Management, one of the UK’s most innovative fintech website portals for cash savings and returns, said:

“Our business is flying to great heights but we remain determined to keep our HQ in the North East. We have clients and partners of the highest calibre so our address needs to be fitting, reflecting the quality of our business. Pendower Hall fits that bill and it will be perfect to receive visitors in stunning and professional surroundings.

“Having been named in the Top 30 Under 30 in the UK recently, we are of course continuing to attract business from all over the UK as well as further afield so Pendower Hall is perfect in its location, being close to the A1, A69 and the airport.”

Careful attention to detail will ensure the refurbishment reflects the historic characteristics of the hall, whilst the many archaeological finds from the nearby Military Way and Vallum will provide the basis of unique exhibitions, displays and interpretation for visitors and schools.

It’s not just businesses that are impressed with the plans and supporting the application. Cllr Jeremy Beecham, amongst other influencers, has been so impressed by the work ethic of the developer and their aims for the historic and important building, that he has given it his full backing prior to the planning committee giving final agreement.

The veteran Newcastle Councilor, Labour NEC and Shadow Justice Minister in Lords said:

“Pendower Hall Limited is aiming to breathe life back into a Grade II listed building, which has stood empty for a decade. That’s to be commended!

“In my opinion, the proposed transformation into a hub for businesses and a conference and banqueting facility for up to 450 in the Grand Hall is just what the area needs. The developers have worked closely with and actually listened to the residents and this is reflected in the final plans, which I think look very acceptable.”
