Bardsley Construction to build £30m Manchester PRS scheme
Property firm Mulbury has chosen Bardsley Construction to build its £30m private rented sector (PRS) scheme in Ancoats, Manchester.
The development, granted planning consent in January, will see the construction of 143 apartments across two buildings, one of eight storeys and another of seven.
Dukinfield-based Bardsley will deliver a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, in addition to three townhouses, communal amenity areas and around 2,150 sq ft of space for businesses.
Located on the corner of Blossom Street and Great Ancoats Street, the scheme is designed by Manchester firm Tim Groom Architects.
James Alderson, head of Mulbury City, the developer’s city centre residential arm, said: “The Blossom Street PRS development is similar in terms of the delivery model to our other PRS scheme in Port Street which is also under construction with Bardsley, so the company was a natural fit for this project.”
Bardsley Construction’s procurement director, Ged Rooney, commented: “Our second appointment by Mulbury cements our valued reputation for the delivery of prestigious and high quality residential-led schemes such as Port Street in Ancoats on time and on budget.”
On-site demolition and remediation work is due to start imminently, with completion scheduled for May 2019.
Last week, Mulbury announced a funding deal with DTZ Investors to support the multi-million pound development.
