Mobiles.co.uk Reveals 'No Drama' Summer Campaign

Leading online smartphone retailer, Mobiles.co.uk, has today unveiled its summer, multi-platform marketing campaign; entitled ‘No Drama’.

Inspired by thousands of customer reviews that praised the unexpected ease of the Mobiles.co.uk ordering process, and forum feedback which unveiled an overall sense of apprehension about buying online, the campaign highlights the brand’s ‘no drama’ approach and values: always delivering the latest phones, at low prices, with the best possible customer service.

The campaign features three unique video assets which give a nod to iconic TV and movie moments – without the drama.

Filmed in May 2017 in a warehouse in Saunderton, London, the cinematic, trailer-inspired videos will be promoted through display and social channels, with sales acquisition tactics to support the videos through search, affiliate and email. Videos will be available from 21 July.

The chief goals of the campaign are to drive engagement and video views, whilst ultimately increasing the brand traffic score by 15% (of which the intention is that 70% are new users).

Mobiles.co.uk spokesperson Abby Francis said: “Feedback from customers has been positive – people are surprised about how easy it is to buy their mobile phone contract online. Especially with next day delivery, easy returns and prices often lower than the high street.

“We wanted to create video as this format always resonates well with our target audience; particularly given our desired methods of promotion.

“We created a brief, and shared this with prod uction agencies back in April. In the end, we chose to work with Flex Film and e3ceative, as we felt that the idea of hinting at actioned packed scenes with ‘no drama’ twists emphasised our core messages in a less promotional way.

“Summer is usually a quieter time for the industry due to a slowdown of golden handset launches. As such, it was essential that we engaged with our customers ahead of peak period, and we feel confident that the ‘no drama’ campaign will drive engagement and site traffic from both new and existing users.”

Jake Welsh, managing director of production agency, e3creative said: “We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of the No Drama campaign and anticipate each video to have high shareability. The campaign provokes interest across all demographics and delivers a strong comical approach through the use of cinematic experience. The teams at Mobiles.co.uk are great to work with, this is the second campaign we’ve collaborated on, and we’re expecting considerable engagement as a result of it.”
