Miller Homes Boosts Midlands Housing Market

Miller Homes Midlands is on track to meet its ambitious target of bringing 677 new homes to the region by the end of the year.

During the first six months of 2017, the firm built 330 homes, with a further 347 set to be built during the remainder of the year.

Reflecting an increasingly strong housing market, sales continue to be strong too. Miller Homes Midlands have sold 587 properties so far during 2017, with a further 237 properties sold already for 2018.

So far this year, Miller Homes has launched new developments across the West Midlands in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Staffordshire – Oak Grange in Mickleton, Ravens Croft in Droitwich, Sovereign Park in Shrewsbury and Cathedral View at Streethay.

In the East Midlands, new developments include Knights Chase in Ashby, Leicestershire and the second phase of Highfields in Littleover, Derby.

Explaining why the area is proving so popular with house-hunters, Alastair Parsons, sales director at Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“Our sales advisers have been inundated with enquiries from prospective buyers, from young couples taking their first steps on the property ladder, to families looking for a more spacious home.

“Last year, we built 600 homes in the region and we are set to repeat that success in 2017. The Midlands remains a popular location for many buyers, thanks to its stunning countryside, vibrant cities and strong transport links.

“At Miller Homes, we work hard to enhance communities, so as well as building houses, we also improve local amenities. In Streethay, for example, we’re now well on the way to delivering a state-of-the-art primary school for 262 children close to our Roman Heights and Cathedral View developments.”

Since the start of 2017, developments in four locations have all sold out. These include Regency Gardens in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, Stretton Glen in Great Glen, Leicestershire, Sutherlands in Telford and Somersgate in Repton, Derbyshire. At Dales View in Brailsford, there is just one more property left to sell.
