Techspace opens its flagship space in Shoreditch
Techspace has announced today (September 5) that it will be expanding further into East London, with the opening of a new flagship co-working space.
Co-founded by entrepreneurs David Galsworthy and Alex Raberts in 2012, the company will gain a four-floor space located on Luke Street in Shoreditch, with 20,000 sq-ft including a 2,000 sq-ft event space. It will also consist of 354 workstations.
Acting as a workspace provider for tech businesses, this will be the company’s sixth co-working space in which Techspace has opened in London and, altogether, it will provide space for 1,500 members.
The CEO and co-founder of Techspace, David Galsworthy, commented: “Given our singular focus on helping technology companies to grow and become more productive through better workspaces, the Luke Street expansion is a natural move for [us].
“It keeps us at the heart of the technology community in London and further positions us as a partner for helping businesses to grow, regardless of the size of the technology company.”
The company operates an ‘occupational exclusivity’ policy, whereby only high-growth technology companies are eligible to become members. Companies who join this space at Luke Street will be part of a scale-up community at Techspace that includes the likes of Business Insider and Memrise.
The area is said to be designed specifically for scaleup technology companies, including Techspace’s customisation of a workspace with its own branding.
In June 2017, Techspace announced £5m of Series A funding, enabling it to expand and open the Leman Street, Aldgate East space in August 2016 and now this space in Shoreditch, too.
The spaces which have been added this year add to the company’s existing locations in Shoreditch High Street, Hoxton, Old Street and Whitechapel.
