European tech entrepreneur joins boohoo.com as non-exec director

Online fashion group boohoo.com has this morning (September 7) announced the appointment of a tech entrepreneur as non-executive director.

Pierre Marie Jean-Louis Cuilleret is the founder of mobile phone retailer The Phone House, which was acquired by The Carphone Warehouse Group Plc.

He also served as CEO of French game retailer Micromania between 2005 and 2014, overseeing the firm’s acquisition by US retailer Gamestop Group.

Alongside his CEO duties, Pierre was appointed in 2011 as an independent non-executive director of Madrid Stock Exchange-listed food retailer Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentacion SA – a position he held until 2016.

Currently, Pierre is an independent non-executive director on the board of Desigual SLU, a fashion retailer based in Barcelona.

With boohoo.com, Pierre will sit on each of the firm’s Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

The company’s non-executive chairman, Peter Williams, said of the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Pierre to the company. Pierre’s international experience and particular insight in European retail markets will be invaluable to the company at this stage of its evolution. The board very much look forward to working with him.”

Pierre Marie Jean-Louis Cuilleret commented: “I am excited to join the team that led Boohoo to become one of the fastest-growing fashion e-tailers.

“I look forward to working with the entire Board towards strengthening and developing an already successful portfolio of international brands.”
