Clingfoil is now producing an additional 500 stretch wrap rolls every day

Poynton firm Clingfoil invests £50k to raise capacity by 25%

Protective packaging materials and stretch film distributor Clingfoil has increased capacity with a five-figure capital investment.

The family-run firm spent £50k on new machinery at its plant in Poynton, Cheshire, to boost its stretch wrap capacity by 25%.

Clingfoil said it can now produce an additional 500 stretch wrap rolls every day, expanding its weekly production figures from 2 million metres to 2.5 million.

The investment has also enabled the company to permanently run selected lines and reduce lead times for warehouse, logistics, distribution and food supply sector businesses by 70%.

Following a surge in demand for its products over the last two years, due in part to the North West’s expanding ecommerce and logistics sectors, Clingfoil has forecast a record turnover of £6m in its next financial results.

Mark Kenyon, Clingfoil’s managing director, said: “Clingfoil continues to experience a steady increase in demand for our stretch film and the new machine increases our capacity, making the entire operation more efficient and adding further resilience during peak season.

“During our 35 years in the business, we have acquired a deep, first-hand understanding of our North West market, and we are confident that this, combined with our ongoing investment will enable us to continue to meet the evolving needs of the customer, who requires high quality product with a short lead time.”
