Simon Jersey team shows off Macmillan bakes

The Simon Jersey team enjoyed raising funds again last week by holding a Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff from the Altham-based uniform suppliers raised more than £200 on Friday (29th September). They took part in activities including their own ‘cake off’ judged by the company’s own version of Paul Hollywood and Pru Leith.

They also played Bake Off bingo, guessed the height of a huge stack of cake and dressed down for the day.

Michelle Tunstall, head of brand, said: “The Macmillan Coffee Morning is one of the fundraising events we look forward to most – and not just because of the fantastic array of baked goods made by our team.

“Cancer affects all of us, including our colleagues and their families. Macmillan offers fantastic support to those going through treatment and it’s always our aim to raise as much money as we can. We’ve had a fantastic day as always.”

The team at Simon Jersey works to support a wide range of charitable initiatives both in the local community and beyond.

Recently it has supported residents of the Grenfell Tower disaster by providing suiting and maternity clothing to those who needed it to attend funerals. They also regularly donate clothing to Smart Works and Suited and Booted, charities that provide workwear so that people have an interview outfit, helping them feel confident enough to get back into work.
