The Cheese Bar is set to serve up an Alpine twist with Fondue Thursdays

This November, The Cheese Bar will be bringing a taste of The Alps to Camden as they launch weekly event Fondue Thursdays for the festive period.

Teaming up with cast iron specialists STAUB, guests will able to choose from two fondue recipes; a classic four cheese & white wine fondue and a Young Buck, blue cheese fondue made with cider and kirsch. Both dishes are made with The Cheese Bar’s signature British Cheeses.

Diners can expect the fondue to be complete with accompaniments including crisp, truffled roast potatoes, deep fried Brussel sprouts and Christmas favourite ‘pigs in blankets’. Elsewhere on the menu will be traditional apple strudel, small producer Alpine wines from Les Cave de Pyrene and Kirsch cherry brandy.

Founding The Cheese Truck in 2014, Great British Cheese and World Cheese Awards judge Mathew Carver set out to celebrate and promote the best of British cheese in his converted 1970’s ice cream van.

Three years later and after a successful £130k crowdfunding campaign, Mathew opened his first permanent restaurant The Cheese Bar in hipster hotspot, Camden Market.

The restaurant itself houses over thirty of Mathew’s favourite British cheeses, as well as a changing selection of twenty craft beers.

Mathew Carver, founder of The Cheese Bar said: “When it comes to melted-cheese dishes, fondue is right up there with the best, nothing beats the winter chill like dipping fresh bread in hot molten cheese.

“We’ve put together a classic recipe, a nod to the origins of the dish alongside our own spin, both made with the best British cheeses.”

For those who can’t wait to get their Thursday fondue fix, The Cheese Bar will be taking Christmas party bookings of 6 and more to get in on the action.

Bookings can be made through reservation page on The Cheese Bar’s website.
