Sheffield and Leeds rank among top ten UK cities to find a job in right now

New data from CV-Library, the UK independent job site, has revealed that two Yorkshire cities both experienced a job boom in the last quarter.

The data shows that Leeds and Sheffield are among the top 10 cities in the UK to find a job in right now.

The study, which compared Q3 job market data with that of the same period last year, found that Leeds witnessed a 14.7% increase in advertised vacancies over the past 12 months, whilst Sheffield recorded a 22.2% increase.

Both cities outpaced the national average of 12.2%.

The top 10 cities to find a job in right now are:

  • Portsmouth – 35.9%
  • Brighton – 33.3%
  • London – 25.8%
  • Bristol – 22.5%
  • Sheffield – 22.2%
  • Aberdeen – 20.6%
  • Edinburgh – 20.3%
  • Leeds – 14.7%
  • Manchester – 13.8%
  • Glasgow – 12.5%

Leeds also saw an increase in job vacancies when compared with the Q2 2017, with the city seeing an increase of 2.4% quarter-on-quarter.
