Keith Ravenhill, Robyn Shepherd and Chris Hughes, Mincoffs Solicitors

Jesmond law firm Mincoffs has announced a raft of associate promotions.

Commercial property solicitor Keith Ravenhill, dispute resolution and employment solicitor Robyn Shepherd and corporate solicitor Chris Hughes have been promoted to associate solicitor level.

Keith and Chris completed their training contracts at Mincoffs, while Robyn trained with a top 50 national commercial firm based in Manchester.

Mincoffs CEO Andy Woodhouse said: “It is great to see our employees climbing through the ranks.

“We’re very keen on nurturing talent to enable people to grow within themselves which is why we have such a high staff retention rate.”

Anil Kuriakose, Securiclad

Securiclad, a North Tyneside-based manufacturer of high security modular panel systems, has added a new draughtsman to its team.

Anil Kuriakose will work with the firm’s clients to produce general arrangement and manufacturing drawings that support the design process, enhancing the service offered to contractors and end users.

Bringing with him more than 20 years of experience, Anil previously worked as an auto CAD design draughtsman for companies including Alnmaritec and Continental Crushing & Conveying.

His experience also includes work as a structural designer for Babcock International Group.

Anil said: “Securiclad is renowned for its high-quality, innovative physical security products, I am therefore thrilled to be joining the company.

“I am looking forward to utilising my experience and skills to support our customers in safeguarding sensitive data, hardware, hazardous materials, infrastructure and valuable goods and equipment.”

Securiclad MD Mike McColl commented: “2017 has been a year of continued growth for Securiclad and we’re delighted to welcome Anil to the Securiclad team.

“We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive service and I am confident Anil’s extensive knowledge and experience will contribute greatly to this, as he works closely with contractors and end users throughout the project design process on creating secure environments.”

Judith Doyle, Newcastle United Foundation

Newcastle United Foundation has made a board appointment.

Judith Doyle, principal and chief exec of Gateshead College, is now a member of the organisation’s board of trustees.

With experience of the FE sector and knowledge of the business community, Judith has run the college since 2013 and was appointed to the business growth board of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership earlier this year.

She is also a member of the Confederation of British Industry’s regional council.

Judith said: “I am thrilled to be playing a role in helping the foundation develop a dynamic learning hub that provides a wide range of sporting and education opportunities for young people.

“At Gateshead College, our goal is to equip people with the skills and attributes that benefit local businesses and lead to rewarding careers – and we’re delighted that the foundation shares this aim.”

She added: “I hope to use my experience of industry and FE to help the foundation fast-track the next generation of sporting and industry talent.”

John Marshall, chair of trustees, commented: “We are delighted that Judith has agreed to join our board. Judith’s expertise in education will be invaluable as we further develop our learning and skills programmes.

“Above all, she brings characteristic energy and enthusiasm to our growing board and we are excited about working with her.

Michael Norden, Kykloud

Property tech business Kykloud, a provider of software for surveyors and property asset managers, has chosen its new chief finance officer.

Michael Norden’s background includes financial director roles with North East firms Hayes Travel and Parkdean Holidays and work with telecoms business Callstream, which he helped grow and sell to NASDAQ-listed telecoms giant J2 Global.

Michael said: “I’ve worked with some great businesses and have helped to achieve their goals.

“I’m certainly attracted by fast growth, highly ambitious businesses which is why I was drawn to the opportunity at Kykloud.”

He continued: “I spent the past six years helping to grow VC backed, fast moving, telecoms business Callstream, originally North East-based Bluebell Telecom; there are huge similarities between the two recurring revenue business models so I am confident of what I can bring to the table.”

Ed Bartlett, CEO of Kykloud, commented: “Michael brings with him a wealth of experience from a range of companies and is therefore a welcomed addition to the Kykloud team where he will play a pivotal role in helping to shape the future of the business.”

Katy Clark and Emily Armstrong, Naylors

Newcastle-based Naylors has added to its property management team.

The commercial property agency took on Katy Clark in the role of senior surveyor and Emily Armstrong as management surveyor.

Angus White, Naylors’ head of management, said: “As an independent firm we are very proud to have built up one of the largest property management teams in the North East.

“The activity over the past nine months has been very encouraging in securing work for both new and retained clients, as a result of this we have improved the resourcing and skill set in the department and we are delighted to welcome our new recruits.”

He added: “Both Emily and Katy are Chartered surveyors with a very hands-on approach to management and both will fit in well with our client and tenant focused service. I am sure on the back of their appointment we will be able to continue to grow the department further.”
