Newcastle City Council’s Consultation Provides a Big Opportunity to Land, Property and Business Owners
As part of the Draft Development and Allocations plan, Newcastle City Council is seeking comments and submissions for all future development within Newcastle to 2030 with a focus on providing more detailed policies to support planning decisions, allocations of housing, employment sites and designation of areas such as retail centres and wildlife sites.
The consultation includes plans and the initial assessments of all possible sites that could be included in their Draft Development and Allocations Plan which forms part 2 of the Council’s Local Plan. The Development and Allocations plan will ultimately identify enough land for the homes, jobs and other development needs in the region up to 2030.
Craig Ross, Associate at George F. White, said: “The consultation is an opportunity for any land, property and business owners to get involved at an early stage and to help promote and make the most of their assets. Alternatively, for those who wish to seek to protect their assets and interests, this can also be done through the plan making process. We are currently working across the region providing specialist planning and development advice on this and a whole range of other planning and development services.”
George F. White provides planning consultancy services for both urban and rural areas across a vast geography from the Borders, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear down to Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The Tyne and Wear region is a particular key focus for the business with the Newcastle office having seen a dramatic rise in planning and development work in 2017, prompting a move to its new City Centre Location.
Craig added: “With such a short window of opportunity it is important that everyone who wants to get involved does so in the most effective way. Our new city centre location is allowing us to meet new and existing clients quickly and easily which in turn allows us to respond to such opportunities on their behalf.”
Please be aware that the consultation closes on 20th November 2017 therefore any formal responses need to be submitted prior to this date.
If you are a land, property or business owner and would like to discuss this or any other planning and development issue please contact Craig Ross at George F. White on craigross@georgefwhite.co.uk or 07808 761908 for further advice.
