Mantra Thai turns three…
Mantra Thai Dining, on Forth Banks, Newcastle turn turned on the 23rd of October and planned an evening of celebration and authentic activities for the people of Newcastle to enjoy.
Reflecting on the past two years, co-owners, and husband and wife team, Jeab and Sunye Prapunwong both agree that Mantra’s reputation and popularity is rapidly increasing. Since opening in 2014, Mantra has seen its fair share of accolades and awards, the most impressive being nominated for Restaurant of the Year 2017. Despite there being fierce competition on the Quayside and in Newcastle City centre itself, Mantra’s turnover has increased by 40%.
Their increase in reputation and success rate lead to an influx of quality staff who want to be part of the business. Mantra’s staffing has increased by a third since 2014 and as an active member of the community, Mantra are always on the lookout for more people to join the team. Opportunities are available to those who want to learn, improve and progress within the business.
Looking to the future, Mantra have some exciting plans up their sleeve. With plans to renovate their function room, Mantra will be the hotspot for business meetings and presentations alike. Jeab wants Mantra to sustain and grow as a business so has also invested in more PR and marketing to really promote the business and push Mantra to operate at its full potential.
Mantra transformed their restaurant into a mini Thailand for the first night of half term and organised traditional music and dancing.
Mantra’s chefs hail from Thailand and have over 40 years of experience between them. They prepared traditional dishes as well as offered 10% off Thai beers and wines to promote a complete Thai experience. Those who attended the event had the opportunity to join Mantra’s VIP club, an exclusive club where members get access to offers and promotions to use at the restaurant.
