Meet the entrepreneur behind your new favourite cashback site in time for Black Friday

Giora Mandel is the founder of new cashback website, Boom25.com, and no it’s not your standard scamming hoax! It’s completely genuine and you could be the next person to win. Read our interview with Giora to find out how.

If your mind immediately jumps to scams and codes that never work when you think of cashback sites, you’re not alone.

My details and I have never, ever felt remotely safe when clicking on one of them, but a part of me is wanting to strike a bargain. Where are the safe, cheap things, I hear you cry!

Claiming your money back altogether - or reaping in a small but significantly good discount - after you’ve purchased an item (or several) has to be a scam, right? Well, believe me when I say, this particular one isn’t - it’s very, very real and it’s from Boom25.com.

The idea behind this website comes from Giora Mandel, an Israeli entrepreneur and founder of several companies, splitting his time between Tel Aviv and London.

You could say Boom25 was accidentally stumbled upon, as Mandel said: “I’ve always wondered how I could create a disruption in the affiliate world, then the idea came to me during a drive down south with my kids.

“I overheard them play a game called ‘7-Boom’, a game that you need to count up and say the word ‘boom’ instead of the number seven or its multiples.”

Thus, Boom25 was founded in April 2017, and if you’re wondering where ‘25’ came from, it’s pretty simple. So, for every 25th customer to purchase items through the website, they will get their money back.

There’s honestly no catch; just your money returned to your Paypal account in a few days… And obviously you get to keep your new purchase as well. Yep, I was pretty stunned, too.

So, how on earth does Mandel make money from this? He added: “The idea was a result of two thoughts, the first financial and the second was marketing-oriented.

“Financially, it’s a low percentage that still leaves us with a profit. Also, it’s a catchy number that still provides a high chance to get your money back.”

Within a few months, it is no surprise that the company has went from zero to 1,000 transactions processed and counting. The site now has over 300,000 users per month, which Mandel says, comes from the traditional ‘word of mouth’ marketing.

But really, we know a good bargain when we see one - us Brits especially - and we love to chat all things discounted to save money nowadays, so it is no wonder Boom25 is already getting hits across the country, and no doubt the entire world very soon.

Everyone’s favourite retailers seem to be on there, and I’m not talking just clothes and accessories. If you really wanted, you could book up a hotel or holiday through the site and, yes, if you’re the 25th customer, your money will be returned to you! Insane, I know, but worth it? Yes, indeed.

In the next year or so, Mandel is planning “to reach 1m-user traffic per month. The UK is our pilot country and we are planning on expanding to other countries very soon.” Watch this space.
