North East energy broker brightening up Christmas for the region’s children

A South Shields based energy broker is urging people to help them make Christmas a little brighter for disadvantaged children and young people across the region this Christmas.

Based in One Trinity Green, The Green Energy Advice Bureau is encouraging people to purchase an extra toy or gift so that families who are struggling to buy presents for their children will find a small surprise under their tree on Christmas Day.

The presents will be collected by The Green Energy Advice Bureau and supplied to the Salvation Army who will distribute the gifts to children and young people across the region.

Paul Cobb, Managing Director at The Green Energy Advice Bureau, said: “It is a sad fact that, while many families across the region will be enjoying the festivities this Christmas time, there are others who will be struggling to make ends meet which means that not every child will receive a gift this Christmas.

“Here at The Green Energy Advice Bureau, we want to help the Salvation Army make Christmas Day a little brighter for disadvantaged children and young people in our region. If each of our employees, and customers buy just one extra toy or gift while shopping and donated it to our Christmas gift appeal, we’ll be able to make a real difference to those who would otherwise go without.”

People are invited to drop off a new, unused and unwrapped toy, for a child aged up to 16 at The Green Energy Advice Bureau, One Trinity Green, Eldon Street, South Shields NE33 1SA by December 11.

The Salvation Army will then wrap the gifts and distribute them to families through their own networks, community groups and social services.

Gifts can include anything from dolls and teddy bears for young children to games, DVDs and accessories for older children.

Established in 2015, The Green Energy Advice Bureau provides energy and water procurement, sustainability and energy management, and guidance on compliance legislation.
