A new creative hub supported by Royal Bank of Scotland launches in London

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has supported the launch of brand new creative hub, The Nest, in Wapping, London.

Located near to St Katharine Docks, the 8,000 sq ft property cost £1.7m to develop and has been created by photography, film and TV production complex, Cherryduck Studios.

RBS has supported the development with a £1.36m funding deal. Designed to bring together London’s creative professionals and small production companies under one roof, The Nest is to provide affordable co-working space and facilities to creatives in the area.

James Vellacott, chief executive of Cherryduck, said: “We couldn’t be happier with the development of The Nest. We have created a truly first rate space, equipped with the very best production facilities available.

“Given the recent surge in demand for digital content, the explosion in the number of TV production companies, London’s wealth of young creative post- production talent and the ever- growing need to collaborate with other creative sectors, we feel The Nest will prove to be a very popular workspace hub.”

Situated next door to Cherryduck’s established studios, facilities at The Nest include 12 edit suites running Adobe Creative Suite and four ‘private’ edit and grading suites, rentable by the hour, that are capable of handling 4K content.

Elsewhere at The Nest, there is an audio studio with voice-over booth, screening room, meeting rooms, a cafeì bar and communal space that can accommodate up to 50 people.

Richard Hall, senior relationship manager at RBS, concluded: “I am pleased that The Nest is now up and running and that we have been able to support the creation of such a brilliant facility.

“There is a real concentration of smaller production companies in the area who will undoubtedly benefit from the availability of such a space.”
