Chris Hunter joins Darlington Building Society
A newly appointed Chief Risk Officer adds strength to the growth plans of a local building society.
Chris Hunter, who has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Financial Service industry including 16 years with Lloyds Banking Group, has joined Darlington Building Society as Chief Risk Officer.
“The Chief Risk Officer role is a key role within the Society and it gives me an opportunity to really get to know every part of the business, deepening my knowledge and ensuring no two days are never the same,” said Chris.
“By supporting but challenging every area of business, I feel we can enable the manage growth of the Society, providing it with confidence and strength whilst keeping the business safe and in line with all regulations on behalf of our members.”
Colin Fyfe, Chief Executive of Darlington Building Society, is excited at what Chris’s appointment means for the firm.
He said: “At a time when the Society is growing in both size and strength, the role of Chief Risk Officer has never been more important.
“With a reputation that preceded him, Chris has some exciting plans to identify, manage and eliminate risk to and within our business.”
Speaking of becoming part of the Darlington Building Society team, Chris said: “Every team member is proud to say they work for the Society and genuinely does care about the local community and all members, something I’m looking forward to demonstrating personally.”
