Law firm boosts charities’ goals by £11k across 2017
hlw Keeble Hawson has wrapped up its tenacious charity drive for 2017 by boosting the goals of local charities to the tune of almost £11k.
The total comprises a combination of fundraising initiatives and donations for St Luke’s Hospice, Changing Lives, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Dementia UK, Comic Relief, Breast Cancer Care and the MS Society – the latter which joined in a festive fundraiser at the firm’s Doncaster office.
Eclectic and colourful initiatives have included tree dressing, tackling the Sheffield 10k and Yorkshire ‘Tough Mudder’ obstacle race, scaling the Yorkshire Three Peaks along with a screen race night, five-a-side football challenge - and a charity quiz event.
MS Society area fundraiser, Simon Moran, said: “Well done to hlw Keeble Hawson’s committed team for its tireless efforts to support those with MS and their families. There are 100,000 people living with MS in the UK and your fundraising enables us to be there for more people and their families, through the highs, lows and everything in between.”
hlw Keeble Hawson partner and head of charity sector group, Michele Todd, said: “Hats off to everyone who has helped to make this a record-breaking fundraising year. Their energies and enthusiasm have made a big difference to the inspirational causes we support - and we have some challenging plans to make 2018 an even better year.”
A champion of giving back to its local communities, hlw Keeble Hawson - one of the region’s largest law firms with offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster - donates over 50 pro bono days annually to participate in wide-ranging fundraising events for community organisations.
