This week's Yorkshire appointments

Faith PR, the Brighouse-based public relations agency, has expanded its senior team with the appointment of a new account director.

Emily Raleigh joins Faith PR with over 14 years of PR agency experience across both B2B and B2C sectors, with expertise in media relations, internal communications, copywriting, crisis management and stakeholder engagement.

At Faith PR, her remit will include strategic account planning and development, client liaison and line management responsibility for other members of the team as well as strategic input into the development of the business.

Emily has most recently worked as a PR professional on a freelance basis for clients including the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre in Huddersfield alongside working with Faith PR in this capacity over the past two years.

Andy Hirst, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

Andy Hirst FRICS, associate director at Mace Group in Leeds, has been appointed chairman of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Yorkshire and Humber Regional Board.

As chair, Andy will lead the board in delivering a range of objectives and initiatives to set and improve standards in the region’s property sectors, and encourage more young and diverse talent in to the industry.

The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Board is made up of ten chartered surveyors from both the public and private sector working across the full spectrum of surveying disciplines, and Andy, a chartered quantity surveyor and graduate of Leeds Beckett University, has held a seat on the board for the past four years.

Andy joined Mace Group in September last year, and heads up their Industrial, Logistics and Manufacturing Sector in the North of England and Scotland.

Prior to this, he worked for Faithful+Gould in Leeds for nearly 23 years, delivering projects across the UK and Europe within the manufacturing and food and beverage sectors. Andy has also worked for several large high street names delivering projects across a range of sectors.

‘He is also a former chairman of RICS Matrics Yorkshire and Humber, which is a networking and support group for students, trainees and those with ten years or less surveying experience. Therefore, I’m sure he will prove an invaluable asset to the RICS Yorkshire and Humber Board as the new Chairman.“

Lucy Smith, Sheards Accountants

Sheards Accountants, the Huddersfield-based accountancy practice, has announced the appointment of a practice manager.

Lucy Smith has been appointed for the new role which has been created to improve the overall operations of the practice.

Lucy joins from a Leeds-based charity where she worked as a finance officer and project co-ordinator.

She will be responsible for implementing improvements of the practice’s systems and processes, while managing client onboarding and satisfaction alongside marketing and event planning.

John Hutchings, Emsleys Solicitors

Emsleys Solicitors has appointed John Hutchings, a personal injury solicitor, as a director at the firm.

With over 14 years’ experience in the personal injury field, John is an expert in employer’s liability claims.

He also specialises in high value cases relating to brain and spinal cord injury and traumatic amputation.

Since joining Emsleys in June 2016, John has worked on Review My Claim, Emsleys’ initiative which tackles poor legal advice and service, helping genuine accident victims get the compensation they are entitled to.

John said: “I am looking forward to further developing the Emsleys brand and also sharing my experience to ensure the personal injury team continues to grow.”

Andrew Greenwood, director and head of personal injury, added: “The appointment recognises John’s contribution to the leadership of a progressive and successful team.”

Jack Clayton, Alice Miller and Grant Morris, iSource Group

iSource Group, the IT, digital and change recruitment specialist based in Leeds, has further expanded its team with three new appointments.

Jack Clayton will join the team as recruitment consultant and will head up UX recruitment as part of the team’s digital marketing function, while Alice Miller and Grant Morris both start their careers as junior consultants.
