Forbes Solicitors Joins Forces With The Business Clinic
Leading law firm Forbes Solicitors has enhanced its backing for companies across Lancashire by becoming a Consulting Practitioner for The Business Clinic.
The move will allow Forbes to work in collaboration with businesses and share its expertise and knowledge to help them develop and grow.
The Business Clinic, based in Lockside Road, Preston, was launched in 2013 to help businesses across Lancashire succeed and enjoy healthier profits in an economic climate where the failure rate for start-ups is more than 80% in the first five years.
It provides support, training and consultancy at ground level for businesses young and old as a Community Interest Company (CIC), which ensures that the interests of the participants always remain the focus and not profit or individual gain.
Forbes’ support for The Business Clinic, which will involve regular support surgeries, is being led by John Pickervance, an Associate Solicitor in the Commercial Department, based at Oak House, Walton Summit, in Central Lancashire.
The commercial offering at Forbes covers Commercial Law, Corporate & Restructuring, Employment Law & HR, Commercial Property and Dispute Resolution.
John specialises in Commercial Contracts, Intellectual Property and IT as well as Charity Law, FCA compliance and Sports Law.
His work predominantly relates to drafting, advising on and negotiating commercial contracts governing the provision of both goods and services to customers and suppliers alike, both B2B and B2C.
John also regularly advises in relation to the identification, protection and exploitation of Intellectual Property and IT issues including digital compliance, software development and licensing agreements and support and maintenance contracts.
He works for a range of different clients across a variety of sectors, including SMEs, education providers, local authorities, charities and charitable organisations, sports clubs and housing associations.
He said: “Working with The Business Clinic is a chance to give something back, to help others and make the local economy stronger.
“Forbes has a reputation for providing practical straightforward legal advice with a focus on the commercial objectives of an organisation.
“Building relationships at the outset is central to the way Forbes works so our involvement with The Business Clinic is an ideal way to work with businesses, not for them.”
