Costs firm launches Spinningfields base
Independent costs lawyers firm Kain Knight has opened a new base in Manchester.
To mark the launch of the office in Spinningfields, the company appointed Mark Hartigan to the role of commercial director.
Mark was a director at Just Costs Solicitors before joining Kain Knight.
In his new position, Mark will work with former colleague and costs lawyer Nick McDonnell, who joined the firm last year as a director and heads up the Manchester office.
Mark said: “Kain Knight is an ever-growing force in the field of costs litigation.
“As the longest established independent firm of costs lawyers in the UK, it has an extensive client base which includes many of the leading names in the legal world.”
He continued: “The opening of a new office in Manchester brings a new dimension to the business and I am looking forward to further developing our client base in the commercial, insurance and personal injury practice areas.”
The company recently secured a contract with Hilary Meredith Solicitors that will see the Cheshire- and London-based law firm outsource its costs work to Kain Knight.
Commenting on the tie-up, Mark continued: “It’s a significant appointment. Hilary Meredith Solicitors has an outstanding reputation – they’re leaders in their field.
“I believe we’ll see more and more law firms outsourcing their costs moving forward. We are in advanced negotiations with a number of firms over similar partnerships.”
Hilary Meredith Solicitors chair Hilary Meredith said: “We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with Kain Knight.
“I’ve known Mark for a long time. He knows the costs market inside out and always delivers.”
Kain Knight has offices in Manchester, London, Hertfordshire, Cornwall and Kent.
