Diversity Travel celebrates 10 years with staff bonanza

Specialist travel management firm Diversity Travel celebrated its 10th anniversary on 10th February with a staff celebration at Manchester’s Chill Factore.

More than 100 of the company’s staff took part in a series of sub-zero-themed team challenges at the UK’s longest indoor ski slope, including sledging relays, igloo building and team luge sliding. The most successful team was Team Orange, who came out on top in the challenges.

This was followed by a themed Bavarian Buffet and Diversity’s Travel’s inaugural staff awards, celebrating the team’s biggest successes over the last 12 months. Over 40 nominations were received from across the businesses, with prizes for categories including Service Excellence Award and Idea/Innovation of the Year generously provided by the firm’s airline partners.

The UK-based firm, which specialises in charity, not-for-profit and academic travel, was founded by Harish Sodha, who set out to pioneer a new way for charities to achieve their goals in the most cost effective way. It now serves over 2,000 clients including the London School of Economics, The Salvation Army and ActionAid, and last year reported overall revenues of £63.2 million.

Christopher Airey, managing director of Diversity Travel, said: “Our anniversary celebration was dedicated to all of our proud and passionate staff, who have been instrumental in propelling us through the incredible journey we’ve had in our first 10 years as a business.

“We have demonstrated strong, consistent growth since the business was founded, but remain hugely ambitious and keen to improve further for all of our customers. We are developing some exciting new initiatives to launch later this year, and we look forward to an even bigger celebration in a few years’ time!”
