Amber Claims Management welcomes digital innovation following government consultation

Amber Claims Management is pioneering digital technology within the accident management industry following a new consultation by the Department for Transport calling for the launch of an online road-collision reporting service.

The Old Swan based firm is encouraging fleet managers, insurance companies and insurance brokers alike to review their processes to ensure they are up to date.

Director of Amber Claims Management Ian Ambrose said: “The accident management landscape is ever-changing, and it’s so important to stay up to date on the latest rules, regulations and technology available to those within the industry. Not only does the utilisation of digital methods and systems improve efficiency within organisations, as technology advances, precision of data input is also refined.

“The Department for Transport’s latest consultation is huge news for the industry. During the next twelve weeks, it will be asking for the public’s opinion on plans to launch an online service allowing citizens to report road collisions online. At present, around one in five road accidents require a citizen to visit their local police station, while a further 55,000 incidents involving damage are reported over the counter. This means that the introduction of an online reporting service could save the general public around 85,000 trips to the police station – creating further ease and efficiency for both the victim of the accident and the police force themselves.”

In addition to the online reporting service, the government plans to equip police officers with an app whereby they can supply details of accidents. Amber Claims Management has recently introduced its very own online portal, amber:assist, which allows fleet managers and insurance brokers to process claims quickly and more accurately.

Ian added: “Here at Amber Claims, our outsourcing services make processes run more smoothly for our clients, which is why we are always pioneering the latest in technology to ensure that we are offering the latest, most up-to-date accident management solutions. Not only do online and mobile solutions improve time management within the industry, they also improve accuracy of data logging, for example, with location tracking and time-stamps to name a few.

“We understand that the role of the fleet manager, for example, is comprehensive and that accident management is a non-core but hugely important part of their day-to-day tasks. Our team can ensure that those in the industry can keep up with the fast-moving fleet market and mitigate challenges to us.”
