New flooring store opens in Middlesbrough
Major regional retailer Frank’s the Flooring Store has continued its growth by opening a new store on Teesside.
The store opened at The Parkway Shopping Centre in Coulby Newham, on Saturday (24th Feb).
Frank’s has invested £140,000 turning a previously empty unit into a 7,500 square foot store selling a range of high quality flooring including carpets, wood flooring, vinyl tile, laminate, rugs, and even artificial grass.
The opening has also created three new jobs.
Frank’s Business Development Manager, Mick Copeland, said: “We are delighted to have been able to choose Coulby Newham to be our second store in Middlesbrough.
“The Parkway Centre is an ideal location for us because it has fantastic footfall and we are looking forward to making our own contribution to what is a thriving shopping complex.
“There is a big demand for the flooring we provide because no-one else in the area can match the range and options we have.”
Parkway Centre Manager Zoe France said: “Whilst many high streets are experiencing a decrease in footfall, we are thriving and the fact a well-known retailer like Frank’s has chosen to invest in The Parkway Centre is further evidence of this.
“It’s another major boost for us and we hope this will kick-start further expansion of the centre.”
The new store takes the number of Frank’s across the North East to 28. As well as two now in Middlesbrough, this also includes Redcar, Hartlepool and Stockton.
Mick added: “We are always looking to extend our geographical reach in the North East and further strengthen our brand, so further stores are in the pipeline.
“We are also refurbishing many of our existing stores to make the shopping experience even better for our customers.
“This all forms part of our goal to become the number one carpet retailer in the North East.”
