Advanced Supply Chain Group launches graduate scheme to attract new talent to the industry
International end-to-end supply chain business, Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), has launched a graduate scheme to attract new talent to the industry.
The programme received hundreds of applications from local universities and has welcomed its first graduates into the company, offering trainees the opportunity to work across all areas of the business.
ASCG’s market-leading process, which included a number of assessment centres, will be repeated annually. Candidates were selected from 330 to the final four: Lloyd Moore who joins after completing a degree in Enterprise Development at the University of Huddersfield; Nadia Gonzalez de Dios, who has recently completed a degree in International Business at the University of Lincoln; Rob Johnson who joins after graduating from Leeds Beckett with a degree in business and management and Adil Mahmood who joins following a degree in Business Management at Bradford University.
Mike Danby, CEO of ASCG commented: “In our industry, the pace of regulatory, technological and political change has never been faster but we are fundamentally a people-focused business. We’re always looking towards the future of our sector and the competition for the best talent is tough. We want the brightest graduates and young people to choose a career in supply chain.
“Our priorities will be to invest in people and innovation to cement our strong position in the market and continue to be able to find the right solution for each and every client. With access to some of the country’s very best universities from our Yorkshire headquarters, I’m very pleased to welcome our first cohort of graduates who I’m certain are the future stars of the logistics sector.”
Each new hire will be on rotation across the finance, operations, commercial and transport departments spending a four-to-six-month period with each. ASCG has tailored the programme with the support of a mentor for each new hire to give each a personalised experience with training aligned to their personal goals and objectives.
Graduate trainee, Adil Mahmood, added: “I was impressed by the fast growth and bold ambitions at ASCG. As a business with such a strong heritage and focus on its people, I was very happy to be selected for the programme. It’s early days but I’m already enjoying my role and look forward to the experiences I’ll have over the next two years.”
With seven UK sites and operations in the Czech Republic, Germany, South America and China, ASCG facilitates the transportation of retail goods and other products from their source to final destination – usually the retail store or e commerce customer – ensuring that they arrive in a fast and cost-effective manner, retail-ready and with complete traceability at all points along the journey.
