WOLVERHAMPTON SECURITY COMPANY SUPPORTING CHARITIES

Wolverhampton based Security company Lionheart Security Services have made the move to support charities nationwide, supplying security staff to various fundraiser events free of charge.

The decision to become heavily involved with charity work began late last year when Managing Director Hayden Dando’s son was born following a traumatic birth. “My son Vinnie had a difficult birth and we nearly lost him, following this my wife and I discussed how terrible it must be for families who aren’t as lucky as us and lose children during labour and wanted to do something to support those who go through that horrific ordeal”.

Hayden contacted Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh who lost her son Archie late during her pregnancy and was holding a charity event to raise money for Saying Goodbye which is a part of the Mariposa trust dedicated to those who lose children during pregnancy and labour, Lionheart then offered their security services for the high profile event called Archie’s footprint ball, free of charge and in February 2018 the event took place and was a huge success with a host of celebrity attendees and Lionheart were very pleased to be a part of it.

Following the Manchester event, it came to the Lionheart team’s attention that many companies were charging charity events for security and so a decision was made to attempt to provide security for free to as many charity events as possible. Last month a fundraiser was held by a group of former glamour models for Belinda Charlton who has been diagnosed with denoid cystic carcinoma which is a very rare and hard to treat hard and neck cancer, the fundraiser was held to raise money to send Belinda to Germany where treatment for her illness is advanced. The Lionheart team provided security to the London event, free of charge again and the event raised over £50,000 towards getting Belinda to Germany and the cost of the treatment. Following the event organiser and former glamour model Tracey Elvik said “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Hayden and the Lionheart team for keeping us secure, safe and helping our charity night for Belinda be the best ever, the fact that they did all this for charity speaks volumes as to the kind of company they truly are”.

The Lionheart team are far from done and are already booked in for the James Milner foundation ball, to be held in November by Liverpool star Milner, raising money for the NSPCC, Bloodwise and help for heroes as well as the crème de la crème ball which is held in September raising money for Cauldwell Children. Lionheart’s Managing Director Hayden Dando said “ raising awareness for these charities is high on our agenda, we also want to ensure the events take place safely and securely without charities having the burden of paying security companies, I am very proud that we are lucky to have such a fantastic and loyal staff base who are fully behind what we want to do and as such are happy to give their time providing security to the events free of charge, we will continue to support as many charity events as we can across the course of the year“
