Euro Garages to create 30 jobs with £2m filling station in Oldham

Developer Langtree has put pen to paper on a deal that could bring dozens of jobs to Oldham.

The agreement will see retail and forecourt operator Euro Garages establish a presence at Langtree’s Hollinwood Junction scheme on the M60.

Planning permission is now in place for the facility, which represents a £2m investment for Euro Garages.

Langtree is bringing the Hollinwood Junction development forward in a joint venture with Oldham Council.

The company confirmed that three more deals are in the pipeline and will be announced in the coming months.

Langtree’s redevelopment of the former Roxy cinema site will deliver a new petrol filling station with a sandwich counter, bakery and small retail offering. It is expected to create over 30 jobs.

The wider Hollinwood Junction project will create around 760 jobs and comprise a mix of retail, leisure, employment and housing.

Langtree group development director Neal Biddle said: “This transaction will enable Euro Garages to push ahead with its plans and allow us to conclude three other significant transactions that we currently have in the pipeline.

“We’re pleased at the market’s interest in Oldham and look forward to making further announcements.”

Tom Jeremiah, Euro Garages’ group planning and permit director, commented: “We are extremely pleased to have received planning consent for this site and to be part of the wider redevelopment of the area.

“We intend to start development later this year with a view of opening up the new facilities for motorists and local residents by the end of the year.”

Colliers International, JLL and FDR Law acted for Langtree on the deal. Euro Garages was advised by law firm DWF.
