Harrogate expansion for law specialists Milners
LEEDS-headquartered law firm Milners has marked its first anniversary in Harrogate by expanding into new offices.
The firm, which launched in the spa town at the same time it acquired a long-standing conveyancing practice, has relocated its team to Princes Square.
“After a year of growth – both in terms of staff and clients – moving to new offices in the heart of the town’s professional quarter is a natural progression for us,” said Milners’ Managing Partner Simon Bass.
“Not only does the move act as a springboard for us to develop our services in the future, it also signals the confidence we have in Harrogate as a progressive centre of legal excellence.
“It is a town that is rapidly enhancing its profile and reputation for legal talent in a range of specialist areas.
“By bringing over 200 years of collective expertise, we are pleased to be at the forefront of this momentum - and contributing to the extra jobs and boost to the economy that this generates.”
Milners’ Harrogate team is spearheaded by its Property Partner Mat Haynes; Jessica Savage, who specialises in wills, trusts, probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney; and John Robson, Residential Property Manager, with more than 35 years’ expertise in conveyancing.
As part of its community support programme, Milners reception area will have the added dimension of also being an art gallery as it will continue to exhibit the work of popular Yorkshire artist David Stead within it.
The relocation to the new offices was carried out with support from the Harrogate commercial property agency, FSS.
Milners is one of Yorkshire’s longest-established names in law and is celebrating its 120th anniversary year.
At the time of its launch in Leeds in 1898, Harrogate’s famous Royal Baths had only just opened; the curtain had yet to go up on the opening of Harrogate Theatre; and the town’s population was just 13,000 – around a fifth of what it is today.
“Just as Harrogate has changed and modernised with the times, so too has the legal profession,” said Mr Bass.
“While we remain proud of our historic Yorkshire roots, we are very much future-focused and forward-thinking when finding the best solution for our clients, whatever their needs or challenges may be.”
The launch of a Harrogate office last year heralded the first expansion into North Yorkshire for Milners.
As well as its new Harrogate presence, the solicitors has other established bases in both Leeds and Pontefract.
