Eliesha Training appointed as official Solutions Provider to the North East Scaleup programme

Leading Newcastle-based learning and development consultancy Eliesha Training has been appointed as an official Solutions Provider to the new North East Scaleup programme.

Scaleup North East is a new programme designed for companies with the potential to go through significant growth by the year 2021. The programme has identified businesses that can demonstrate the required hunger and potential to achieve high levels of growth in this time. RTC North is delivering Scaleup North East in partnership with North East Local Enterprise Partnership, and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Eliesha is one of a number of skilled regional organisations selected to partner with the programme; providing high-quality learning and development services to these ambitious companies.

The UK is great at creating new businesses, matching many European peers and the United States in ‘startup’ numbers, but large firms with more than 250 employees only account for 0.5% of all companies. This lack of ‘scaling up’ means the economy as a whole loses out on the productivity, jobs and innovation that come with them. In a recent survey of previously successful ‘scaleup’ businesses – now cumulatively generating over £6 billion in turnover – a top factor they identified as supporting their continued growth was access to high quality leadership and management training. This was even considered to be more important than access to equity finance or international markets.

Eliesha has worked as a learning partner with many successful corporates and is looking forward to sharing its knowledge and expertise in the provision of effective management and leadership training. The objective is to provide similarly successful learning and development solutions in partnership with Scaleup North East and its member companies. The aim of these solutions will be to drive increased employee engagement, higher levels of performance and productivity as well as the multitude of other benefits that result from highly skilled organisational managers and leaders.

“Lack of talent management and workforce development is a significant barrier to growth. In the current economic climate and challenging markets, many growing organisations don’t make the effort to develop their managers and leaders - training can be one of the last things on their minds“ says Eliesha director Tony Cunningham.

“However, this is actually the most important time to explore business needs and invest in training that is directly relevant to them. Evidence demonstrates that management and leadership training investment is the common denominator to many successful companies. Research shows that skilled managers are better able to cope with the challenges that arise in delivering the corporate plan. They can achieve more through improved staff engagement, managing performance and driving growth.

As such, it’s fantastic to be in a position to share the experience and solutions we have gained from working with our industry partners and from the successful support we already provide to many blue-chip companies. With this in mind; we are keen to contribute our knowledge, collaborate and help some of the region’s most exciting, ambitious enterprises to increase and develop their leadership capability and capacity.“
