A Decade of Creativity

Creative Shed Agency are celebrating their 10-year anniversary. Sherburn couple, Marrieanne and Robert set up the company, originally Paws Interactive, back in 2008. They soon went from working at home to having a virtual office to then owning and opening their first premises back in 2013, thus Creative Shed was born.

Our first home was just off Finkle Hill in Sherburn in Elmet, a former florist and tattoo studio, small, quaint but a lovely first office facility. The new office brought in new local business, allowed us to get involved within the community and employ additional staff. In November 2013, Rosie was employed as our apprentice administration assistant, she is the longest serving team member and still with us today. During her time with us she has gained a NVQ level 2 in business admin and a level 3 diploma in Marketing.

The Creative Shed team grew out of our small Sherburn office and needed to look for new premises to coincide with our plans of further growth and development. In March this year, we took the big step of moving to bigger offices, now based in Church Fenton at Leeds East Airport, the old RAF site. We soon made this our new home of creativity and the larger new space gives us excellent opportunities to progress, employee more staff and grow the business even further.

The new office move was timed nicely with our 10-year anniversary, which was the perfect reason to celebrate with an open day. We held our celebratory open day on Wednesday 23rd May 2018, with the venue being our brand new office. Customers old and new came to visit us, with a range of people coming from across Yorkshire from areas such as Sherburn, Tadcaster, Wetherby and even Sheffield. We even had Great British Bake-Off star, Howard Middleton join us and bring along some of his delicious cakes! David Buckle, who is the newly appointed Chairman of Selby District council officially opened our new offices, delivering a wonderful speech about the Creative Shed journey and what we have to come in the future. These plans include further business expansion, including greater involvement with schools and colleges, this will begin when we take several work experience students over the summer. We have further plans to hire a new apprentice and continually grow the team.

With historic photos and previous work displayed around the room, it was certainly a day to reminisce and look back at how far we have come as a company. From a newly formed company working from home, to a forward thinking, thriving business, the past 10 years have been an incredible and unforgettable journey. Thank you to everyone that has shared and been apart of our decade of business, we are looking forward to another amazing 10 years ahead.
