New adult care home creates 150 jobs in Leigh
A new adult care home in Wigan is creating over 150 jobs.
Exemplar’s Lakeview facility, off Ena Crescent in Leigh, will open its doors this autumn.
The centre will provide specialist nurse-led care to 30 adults with complex needs, including people with early-onset dementia, long-term mental ill health and Huntington’s disease.
Jo Roughley, manager at Lakeview, said she is delighted with the response to the first wave of vacancies, with nurses from hospitals in Manchester and carers from across Wigan among those applying.
Jo commented: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to the home’s opening, and by the amount of interest we’ve had in working with us.
“We’ve filled a number of vacancies already, with applicants revelling in the opportunity to be part of something brand new and to play a role in making it their own.”
Jo moved to the new site from Exemplar’s Kavanagh Place home in Liverpool.
Details on the home and its official opening date will be announced over the summer.
The new recruits will start work in June, with residents arriving in July.
