New jobs planned as Barratt development brings economic boost to Boverton
More than 150 jobs are to be supported in Boverton bringing a significant economic boost to the local area - thanks to plans for a number of new homes.
Sycamore Chase is Barratt Homes’ latest development, and the housebuilder says new roles for the project - including tradespeople, subcontractors and sales advisors - will be filled mostly by local people.
The news follows reports that Barratt, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, underpinned 1,300 jobs in South Wales last year. And the five star housebuilder expects the benefits to the economy to continue long after the new development is complete.
Sales director Richard Lawson said: “We know that those who move to our developments are likely to spend the money they earn in local shops and on nearby services, so it’s not only the jobs market here that will see the positive effects of these new homes.
“We’re delighted the introduction of our new developments is having such a major impact on local retailers here,” added Richard. “Not only does it mean an increase in the number of much-needed homes, the local economy is benefitting too.”
Barratt Homes is set to build a range of three and four bedroom homes, just minutes from the coast. There are good schools nearby and convenient transport links.
