The Merthyr community had the opportunity to find out more about the wide range of activities available to them as part of St Tydfil Shopping Centre’s Your Community Day on Saturday 16th June.
A total of 11 charities, organisations and community groups attended the event and visitors took part in a number of activities and talked to groups which included the Merthyron Scooter Club, Merthyr Mendicants, The Royal Welsh, Dowlais Male Choir, Adult Learning Wales, RAF Air Cadets, Tenovus Cancer Care and Open Doors.
Additionally, shoppers enjoyed performances by the Tenovus Cancer Care’s Sing With Us Choir, Fantasy Feet Dance Academy, and the students of Cerys Driscoll Music School.
Julie Calderbank, Operations Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:“There is a lot to be proud of in Merthyr and the aim of the day was to bring the local community together. We received some fantastic comments from the groups that attended and visitors seemed to thoroughly enjoy learning about the different activities available to them.”
