Groups that support the elderly invited to apply for £1,000 building fund
With 40% of households across the South West being made up of people over the age of 65*, it’s no surprise the region has the highest percentage of older people in the UK. In view of this, there is a wide range of fantastic charities and community groups that care for and provide activities for this aging generation.
It’s these groups that RGB Building Supplies is inviting to apply for £1,000 to spend at one of its branches as part of its Well Built Community Fund.
Whether a care home would like to renovate a room for the benefit of its residents, a charity needs materials to help organise activities, or a community group is planning to create an outdoor area that older people can enjoy, RGB would like to hear about it. From all the nominations received, three will be chosen to go through to a vote where the public will be asked to decide who will receive the donation.
David Wright, Branch Manager at RGB Exmouth, commented: “There are a number groups and charities in the South West that offer fantastic support to the older generation in our community and we look forward to hearing how we can now give them a helping hand.”
To apply, groups simply need to contact RGB explaining how £1,000 to spend at an RGB branch would be of benefit to them. Nominations can be made by email to RGB@pmwcom.co.uk or by post to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is Tuesday 31st July 2018.
Further information about the different categories being supported by the Community Fund can be found on RGB’s website, www.rgbltd.co.uk.
