Fruit is a Focus for alternative payment provider

A Yorkshire-based leading provider of alternative payment solutions will be discussing how it can help fruit growers, farmers and employment agencies pay their workers at Fruit Focus in Kent this July.

OnePay, which recently moved into its 9,000 square foot contemporary office in Ilkley, enables efficient payment to those without access to UK banking such as temporary or seasonal workers, making it ideal for use within the agricultural industry.

According to Defra , the market value of soft fruit grown in the UK has risen from £465 million in 2016 to £670 million in 2018 and with demand ever increasing so does the farmers workforce. OnePay will be on stand 104 at East Malling Research Centre on Wednesday 25 July, to discuss its alternative prepaid payroll solution, which makes wage payment easier for farmers by providing a secure alternative to cash payments.

James Krueger, marketing manager at the 11-year-old firm which employs over 50 staff, said: “We want to ensure employers have a fast and direct method of paying their workers so paying their weekly wages doesn’t have to be a problem.”

“Seasonal workers are incredibly important to the UK fruit picking industry and with a OnePay account, workers are able to access their earnings with ease, without a UK bank account.”

OnePay is an approved service partner of the Association of Labour Providers (ALP), a specialist trade association promoting responsible recruitment for labour providers.

“We offer multilingual support for workers and dedicated business account management for farms and recruitment agencies to ensure a straightforward process for all involved. We’re looking forward to meeting everyone at the show in Kent and discussing these options further,” added James.
