Healthcare 21 Group to acquire medical product provider in Basingstoke
Healthcare 21 Group has agreed - subject to Competition Authority approval - to purchase the Aquilant Limited business from H2 Equity Partners.
The newly combined business will continue to be headquartered in Cork, Ireland, with its sales and marketing head office in Leeds. More than 450 staff are employed in Ireland, the UK, Germany and Austria with a turnover in excess of €150m (around £134m).
As part of this transaction, H2 Equity Partners will become a minority shareholder in the newly enlarged Healthcare 21 Group, continuing to be led by founder directors, Owen Curtin, Tara Kearney and David Frederick to achieve the group’s European growth plans.
Healthcare 21 Group’s chairman, Owen Curtin, said: “The combination of Healthcare 21 and Aquilant is an exciting growth story and accelerates our drive to become a pan European, best in class provider of specialist sales, marketing and service solutions for our world leading supplier partners.”
This agreement follows the significant expansion of the Healthcare 21 Group in recent years.
Curtin concluded: “Aquilant is an ideal addition to the Healthcare 21 Group business and offers an expanded product portfolio in many exciting therapy areas that Healthcare 21 currently does not serve.
“In addition, the Aquilant business infrastructure and expertise will ensure that both companies can maintain focus on their current plans and continue to deliver world class outcomes for our customers.”
