Family-run BeeMyHome secures £300k deal on student site near Newcastle’s St James Park
North East estate agency BeeMyHome has won a six-figure contract to manage a student accommodation development in Newcastle city centre.
The deal, worth more than £300k, will see the family-run business manage the new 43-bed scheme near Newcastle United’s St James Park stadium.
The property comprises a mix of studio and multi-occupancy apartments. It is popular with international students at both Newcastle and Northumbria Universities.
BeeMyHome director Victoria Valentine said: “This is a brand-new market for BeeMyHome.
“We started out as an online-only lettings agency, working with private landlords to help them secure tenants before we expanded into property sales.”
She added: “Branching out into student lettings adds another new string to our bow and it is something we are incredibly excited about.”
Speaking further, Victoria said the company is open to “exploring more opportunities” in the student lettings space.
BeeMyHome has taken on another full-time member of staff to accommodate the growth.
As the company’s new administration assistant, Vicky Wyatt will focus solely on managing the new development. The role will include meeting the students as they arrive for the start of term and answering any queries.
Vicky commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining BeeMyHome.
“Estate agency is an entirely new career path for me but I’ve been following the business for a while on social media and I’m excited to become part of the team.”
She continued: “This is a period of rapid growth for BeeMyHome, especially with the acquisition of the new student accommodation in Newcastle and I’m delighted that I’m able to be a part of it.”
