Unum launches Benni: a new stand-alone workplace benefits service

Unum, a market leader in employee benefits and protection products, has today (13th September) launched Benni, a new standalone workplace benefits service that enables employers to provide all staff with access to a range of valuable benefits alongside existing employer paid options.

Benni provides businesses with access to a portfolio of employee-paid benefit options that they can make available to their staff. Benni then acts on their behalf: proactively communicating to employees about the benefit offering, educating them on how products work and how to make their choices, and helping them sign up and select the benefits.

Delivered via a combination of an easy-to-use platform and one-to-one support from Benni’s expert team, employers can make their employees feel more valued as well as attract and retain the best people with minimal impact to business bottom line and without requiring a substantial change in the way they manage their workforce and operations.

While businesses value and care about their staff, implementing traditional employee benefits is not always an option for every employer, particularly as the workforce becomes more diverse and work patterns become more flexible. To combat this, the launch of Benni will enable employees to understand what is available and help them access a range of desirable benefits.

Kyle Addy, Director of Benni, said: “Businesses value and care about their staff and want to treat them fairly; however the traditional ‘big company’ benefits solution is not always an option and can be complicated to manage for smaller organisations. And often staff may be unaware of any benefits they may have, understand their value, or know which are right for them.

“We believe employee benefits can be offered in a different way. Every employer should be in a position to offer a range of benefits, so there’s something for all the workforce at all levels of the business.

“Workplace benefits have a dual effect; employees feel more valued and rewarded, while employers feel that they can be a caring and supportive business, as well as compete on the talent market for the best people.”
