Taylor&Emmet reaches finals of probate awards

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP will be flying the flag for Yorkshire at a prestigious national awards ceremony, highlighting achievements in the wills and probate sector.

The firm is the only representative from the white rose county shortlisted in the Solicitor Firm of the Year (North) category at this year’s British Wills and Probate Awards.

Three solicitors are vying for the accolade, with Taylor&Emmet lining up alongside firms from Manchester and Cheshire. The winner will be announced on October 18 at a ceremony held at Ardencote in Warwickshire, hosted by broadcast journalist, Jennie Bond.

To make the shortlist, firms had to demonstrate all round excellence within their wills and probate practice and effective engagement with clients directly, online or via other channels.

Richard King, a partner in Taylor&Emmet’s probate department, said: “This is the first time we have entered the British Wills and Probate Awards and to be shortlisted is a huge achievement. Our team has proved it is possible to expand rapidly, whilst continuing to put the needs of clients first and this accolade is recognition of the hard work and dedication shown by staff at all levels. We are now looking forward to representing Yorkshire at the finals next month.”

In the last three years, Taylor&Emmet’s wills and probate team has virtually tripled in size and is currently executing ambitious plans for further growth. Four partners are recommended by The Legal 500, which notes the department’s expertise in high value wills and probate, complex tax planning, trust preparation and administration, Powers of Attorney issues and Court of Protection matters.
