Louise Mendham, Hull Trains

A long-serving member of the Hull Trains team has been appointed as production director as the firm looks towards a period of exciting transformations.

Louise Mendham, who started her rail career with Hull Trains 14 years ago as operational support, has been appointed to the executive team ahead of the company’s introduction of five new Hitachi Class 802 trains in December 2019.

Louise said: “I’ve always taken on challenges throughout my time here and this role was the right move for me, it feels like a natural progression.

“I’m ambitious and determined to succeed and I feel I have the experience and understanding of the business to bring about positive changes and move it forward.”

Susie Brindley, Hull Trains

Hull Trains has also appointed Susie Brindley as commercial and customer services director.

Susie has a wealth of over 25 years of experience within customer-centric industries - working at a senior level on the delivery of tourism and culture initiatives across the North of England.

Susie said: “Hull Trains was founded on strong customer-focused principles which remain as part of the core values today. The team is dedicated and passionate about the business and that resonates through the work that they do.

“The business has gone a long way to establish strong connections within the communities in which it operates, and I want to build on that and further enhance what we do.

“I’m excited to introduce initiatives that have been used in the tourism and culture industries and create a level of customer service that is rarely seen in the rail industry.”

John Roberts, BG Energy Solutions

BG Energy Solutions (BGES) has appointed John Roberts to the role of head of service and energy.

Mr Roberts, who has over 30 years of sector expertise in the building controls sector, brings with him commercial experience from technology brands such as Siemens and Johnson Controls.

More recently, he has worked in management roles within the controls integration market including three years at BMSI.

Having joined BGES in 2017 as a sales manager, Roberts will commence this key senior position from September.

A major aspect of the role is to develop the energy side of the BGES business. This includes leading BGES’s Energy & Control Centre - a service that is relied upon by some of the UK’s best-known brands including VUE, the cinema chain.

“This role comes with wide-ranging and strategic responsibility for both service and energy solutions.

“John will bring his energy, ideas and extensive expertise to the team and help us to deliver on our plans for the next stage in our growth.”

Paul Fillingham, Razor

Sheffield-based technology firm, Razor, have appointed a new head of design.

Having joined Razor this month, Paul Fillingham brings with him experience in design and user experience, having held a number of key leadership roles.

Paul began his career as an Apple Macintosh pre-press and multimedia specialist in the 1980s. He will be working to strengthen Razor’s approach and offering, ensuring that employees, customers and consumers remain at the heart of their solutions and recommendations.

Jamie Hinton, CEO of Razor, said: “We’re thrilled to have Paul joining Razor. His vast experience means he will be an invaluable addition to the team.

“Razor are passionate about our people-first stance, and Paul’s appointment will ensure that this is in-line with our technical expertise, and present in everything we do.

“In his role as head of design, he’ll be instrumental in ensuring that we continue to provide effective solutions and services for our clients.”
