Lucy Stephenson; Lucy Trynka; Casper Hammond; Harriet Kingston, Rollits

Law firm, Rollits - which has offices in Hull and York - has appointed four new trainee solicitors as part of its 2018 intake.

Lucy Stephenson, Lucy Trynka, Casper Hammond and Harriet Kingston have joined the firm at the start of their two-year ‘Period of Recognised Training’, having completed their professional qualifications.

Lucy Trynka and Casper will join Rollits’ existing property and corporate teams in Hull, with Lucy Stephenson and Harriet based at the York office in the private capital and planning teams respectively.

Ed Jenneson, Rollits’ training principal, said: “We are extremely pleased to be welcoming these talented people to the firm at the start of their legal careers and I look forward to guiding them through their Period of Recognised Training over the next two years.”

Angelica Edwards-Marsh, Strata

Strata, a Doncaster-based housebuilder with developments across Yorkshire and the Midlands, has appointed Angelica Edwards-Marsh as interior designer to provide advice for buyers as they customise their homes.

Angelica will use the skills she has developed as a design expert to offer guidance to customers, making the process even more exciting and enjoyable.

Having previously worked at Dulux and also as a kitchen designer, Angelica is looking forward to taking the next step in her career, embracing the opportunity to help customers to inject their own personality and style into every room.

She said: “Helping customers to be confident in their own choices and providing an amazing space for them to make these decisions, with lots of natural light to create a calmness and clarity, is so important.

“Inspiring people and allowing them to visualise their home using leading digital technologies which allows us to create realistic 3D renders at the touch of a button.”

Helen Barry, Fitzwilliam Malton Estate

Fitzwilliam Malton Estate has appointed Helen Barry who will take over the management of the Malton Estate following the retirement of Roddy Bushell.

Helen Barry has been with Savills in their Oxford office for nine years and prior to that with Cluttons and brings with her a wide range of experience in commercial property management. She takes up the role in mid-November.

Tom Naylor-Leyland, on behalf of Fitzwilliam Malton Estate, said: “Roddy Bushell will be greatly missed having led the management team through a period of considerable transition and overseeing the highly successful initiative to establish Malton’s reputation as the Food Capital of Yorkshire.

“This has included the establishment of the Malton Community Interest company, now trading as Visit Malton and the complete renovation and relaunch of The Talbot Hotel.”

David Wing, Age Partnership

Retirement finance specialist, Age Partnership has appointed David Wing to its board.

David’s new position, risk and compliance director, will see him take the lead in the continuing development of the company’s governance structures, policies and procedures.

David said: “I’m extremely passionate about making sure we do the right thing for our clients.”

“Having worked in FSA/FCA regulated business for over 17 years, my appointment to the main board at Age Partnership will allow me to provide a consistent focus on conduct risk at the highest level of management.

“With the ultimate aim not only to make continuing improvements, but also to drive up standards across the sector by setting a positive example.”

David, who was previously head of risk and governance at Age Partnership, is a well-known figure across the finance industry having held the positions of CF1, CF10 and CF11 within other regulated businesses.

Caroline Elson; Thomas Spring; Amy Taylor, Langleys Solicitors

Langleys Solicitors has backed its growth plans with a trio of promotions within its York-based team.

Insurance lawyers, Caroline Elson and Thomas Spring have been made senior associates while commercial property lawyer Amy Taylor has been promoted to associate.

Langleys is a large and growing independent law firm in the North and East Midlands. It has a turnover of £20.3m and employs more than 320 people at its offices in York and Lincoln.

Westfield Health

Health and wellbeing provider, Westfield Health has implemented a significant restructure to its leadership team, marking its growth and ambition to become the go-to provider of workplace wellbeing in the UK.

Following his promotion to chief executive officer in August 2018, David Capper has announced an executive layer to the leadership team by introducing six new roles, including a director of business transformation.

The new structure includes four promotions of current staff including: Jason Hogan to chief financial officer and deputy CEO, and Andrew Radi as chief operations officer, responsible for overseeing customer service, IT, business simplification and programme management.

Máire O’Riordan is now director of strategic planning and insight, who will be supporting the CFO and CEO in developing the group’s strategic business plan, and Paul Shires has been promoted to MD of UK Healthcare - with an objective to drive business growth.
