Perkbox launches ‘cost of disengagement calculator’ to uncover the true cost of employee disengagement
With one of the biggest pitfalls historically in business being fully recognising the importance of “people” functions like HR, recruiting, learning, development and many HR-related functions still struggling for a seat “at the table”, Perkbox, UK’s fastest growing employee engagement platform has today announced the launch of it’s ‘cost of disengagement calculator’ - a new tool to help UK businesses uncover the true cost of disengagement in their organisation.
The calculator measures estimated annual costs of disengagement based on three key areas: (a) number of sick days (considering disengaged employees take 2.3x more sick days than engaged employees), (b) recruitment costs (as a percentage of salary) and c) average training cost per employee. All this is under the assumption that 61 percent of employees within a staff base are disengaged and that the 39% remaining, are engaged.
Currently, it’s capable of measuring disengagement in the Care, Hospitality, IT & Tech, Construction, Financial Services, Education, Manufacturing Media, Retail and Recruitment sectors, with more sector and functionalities to be added to it shortly.
Chieu Cao, Cofounder and CMO of Perkbox says;
“Unhappy employees acting out unhappiness with tardiness, missed workdays, and decreased productivity are a key issue in today’s workplaces. We’re hoping that when leaders get to see the overall real costs of disengaged employees through our calculator, they start focusing more on prioritising building an engaging work environment where everyone is aligned and happy.”
