Newcastle duo launch networking hub for professionals just starting their careers
Two Newcastle-based legal professionals have teamed up to launch a new networking hub for the region.
Solicitor Roisin O’Donnell and trainee Chloe Syron from law firm Samuel Phillips have announced Fresh Connection North, a network aimed at ambitious professionals from fields including law, accountancy, property, construction, marketing and digital technology.
The duo decided to establish Fresh Connection as a means of helping those starting out in their careers develop friendships, collaborate and access new opportunities.
Roisin said: “There’s a pressure to network for professionals starting out and limited chances to meet like-minded people at the same stage of their careers.
“Fresh Connection fills that gap and we’re so pleased with the responses we’ve had from people so far.”
She added: “We want to boost business and help people’s careers grow while they enjoy meeting others – people who may be part of their professional lives for decades to come.”
Fresh Connection North kicks off later this month (October 25).
Its first event is invitation-only and now sold out, but future iterations will be open to all.
Chloe commented: “Fresh Connection is welcoming, relaxed and offers a new dimension to doing business in the North East.
“We hope Fresh Connection will boost the confidence and prospects of its members, and we have exciting plans for the future, as it grows.”
Robert Gibson, senior partner at Samuel Phillips Law Firm, said of the launch: “Many of the region’s most talented, ambitious firms and individuals will benefit from Fresh Connection North’s opportunities to move their businesses forward, collaborate and exchange ideas.
“The intention is for friendships to be formed that will lead to career long collaboration, as people progress. It will actively help members create a culture in which they can thrive.”
He continued: “I’m delighted at the drive and initiative Roisin and Chloe have shown in setting up this venture – even though I’m far from being the target market!”
