SAS Daniels LLP announces CAFT as charity of the year

Leading Cheshire law firm, SAS Daniels, has chosen Altrincham-based The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) as its charity of the year.

The children’s charity helps terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the North West, as well as supporting young carers, the recently bereaved and victims of abuse.

SAS Daniels, which has offices in Stockport, Macclesfield, Congleton and Chester, chooses a charity annually to receive all the money raised from the firm’s fundraising and CSR efforts. Employees dedicate their time to supporting the charity throughout the year.

Founded in 1985, CAFT offers week long holidays and short breaks for families at its 17th century farmhouse. It also holds activity days which include messy play, treasure hunts, arts and crafts and feeding animals including goats, alpacas, sheep & donkeys and an aviary full of birds.

Over the next year, SAS Daniels employees will take part in various fundraising activities, including dress down days, bake sales, seasonal raffles and collecting goods and consumables for the charity. This includes a team from the firm participating in the upcoming ‘Christmas Santa Dash’ bike ride for the charity on 25th November. Each rider, who must be dressed as Santa will complete a 60 mile, 30 mile or 14 mile cycle route to raise funds. At the finish line, all attendees can enjoy a variety of fun activities including Santa’s grotto.

Katie Hodson, an Associate in the Employment Law and HR team and Head of the CSR Committee at SAS Daniels said: “CAFT supports thousands of children every year across the North West and works tirelessly to do so. We’re delighted to be able to support them and the team are eager to get started with fundraising to help give the children and families involved unforgettable experiences.”

Alistair Laing from CAFT said: “We’re so grateful to everyone from SAS Daniels for their amazing support of our charity. It means so much to us when members of our community come together to help us to help these amazing children. Children who are living with difficulties most of us couldn’t imagine. Together we can give these children a chance to laugh, play, have fun and simply be children. Thanks to the support of companies such as SAS Daniels we can give them memories to treasure in the dark times that may lie ahead.”
