Taylor&Emmet keeps Legal 500 success in the family

The family law team at Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, has retained its top spot in The Legal 500 for the third consecutive year.

Ranked in tier one, Taylor&Emmet’s divorce and childcare experts are described by the industry guide as a “highly regarded team” that “handles a full range of matters.”

Department head, Michaela Heathcote is praised, alongside colleague, Lucy Rodgers, for “negotiating financial remedies in complex divorce matters, often for high net worth individuals.” Childcare specialist, Pat Wotherspoon and mediator, Fay Bunting, are also recommended.

The firm was listed in a total of nine practice areas, with a record 18 individuals receiving personal recognition. This includes Alex Watkinson, who heads up Taylor&Emmet’s newest department, contentious probate, which was ranked in tier two by The Legal 500 against firms from across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Tier two rankings were also secured by the clinical negligence and employment teams, whilst Taylor&Emmet was listed in tier three for its expertise in corporate and commercial law, commercial litigation, commercial property, personal injury and personal trusts, tax and probate.

Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “We are hugely proud of our superb family law specialists, whose compassion and attention to detail have cemented their place at the top of The Legal 500 rankings for this region. We have performed exceptionally well in all key practice areas and I am pleased to see so many of our young partners earning such high praise.”
