£52 million deal for property specialist

Property maintenance and management specialist, DW Support Services (DWSS) has secured a multi-million pound new contract with leading housing provider, Catalyst.

The deal, covering the housing association’s properties in Oxford, Milton Keynes, Luton, Reading and wider Berkshire, will see DWSS take responsibility for all aspects of property asset maintenance, from day to day responsive repairs and compliance works, to annual gas servicing and inspections.

A five year contract, with the potential of a further five year extension, could have a total value of £52m.

The company will also carry out all routine planned maintenance and will work with Catalyst to improve existing assets, driving up the quality of its housing stock.

The new work will also create at least 17 jobs throughout the area and has already seen DWSS partner with Gas Servicing specialist Robert Heath Heating - which has successfully delivered Gas Maintenance services to Catalyst over the past 13 years.

DWSS - which has offices in Thame, Oxfordshire, London, the Isle of Wight and Reading - provides property maintenance, repair and refurbishment services to large scale property owners, particularly housing associations, councils, universities and NHS trusts. Around 200,000 homes are maintained through the speedy completion of over 40,000 repairs a year.

It is part of the £140 million a year turnover Fastflow Group, an independent provider of essential services to the utilities and property sectors with over 800 people working on sites throughout the UK.

DWSS Managing Director, Conor Bray, said: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this Catalyst contract. We already deliver cyclical home decorations for Catalyst in its West London region - and some responsive repair work in Oxford - and we look forward to building on our excellent relationship with their business.

“Our aim is to work in collaboration with Catalyst, to help it exceed its customers’ expectations and to make a purposeful difference in the communities in which we both work.”

Catalyst owns, manages and maintains over 21,000 homes in London and the South East and is a member of the g15 group - which represents London’s largest housing associations which together provide homes for one in ten Londoners and are responsible for one quarter of all new building in the capital.

Wayne Davies, Catalyst’s Director of Asset Management said, “Catalyst is always aiming to set high standards, to deliver excellent customer service and make sure we – and our customers – get the best value for money. Our new contract with DWSS will help us achieve these goals, ensuring that our customers across the region will receive a better service and have a better experience.”
