A rapidly expanding construction business has taken on four new people - including a new managing director - to help deliver its growing workload.

And with the order book now standing at £25 million, Kirk Thompson has joined to head up the operation. Formerly the Senior Land Manager with Thirteen Housing Group the 36-year-old, from Blaydon has worked in the North East for all his career in both the construction and residential sectors.

He was also involved in numerous multi-million pound developments for blue chip companies like Procter and Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline and for the MOD, taking an active involvement in the whole life cycle of developments - from land acquisition through to customer handover.

Passionate about modern methods of construction, harbouring a willingness to embrace change and with a vision to attract talented new people to an exciting career in the new build residential housing sector, Kirk is looking forward to growing the All Saints Construction brand, as the business moves toward becoming one of the biggest developers in the region.

Also joining the business are Sam Matthews, 29, from Barnard Castle, as Technical Manager; Tom McDonald, 50, from Howwood, near Glasgow, as Contracts Manager and Michael Parkin, 30, from Gateshead as Quantity Surveyor.

They arrive at an exciting time for the business, which is starting a £400,000 refurbishment of the Sea Hotel in South Shields and a pipeline of 61 new homes at Amble, Sadberge, Darlington, Stanhope and Hunton, North Yorkshire.

With its headquarters in Stockbridge House, Newcastle, All Saints Construction is part of The High Street Group of Companies - established by successful entrepreneur Gary Forrest in 2006.
