Leaning tower of pizza at Hinckley business
It was a case of the leaning tower of pizza for a new recruit at a national flooring company based in Hinckley.
Ashleigh McKenna recently joined UK Flooring Direct – which sells a range of flooring including real wood, laminate and vinyl via its website – as an HR assistant.
And it is proving to be the busiest period in the company’s history with a record number of orders for the firm, which has recently passed 100 staff.
So much so, that the company is rewarding staff for their efforts with regular lunches – including an order of 40 pizzas from a local delivery firm.
Ashleigh, who was born and raised in Nuneaton, was responsible for ensuring the hungry workforce got a slice of the pizza action to keep them going.
Lisa Ashby, of UK Flooring Direct, said: “We pride ourselves on being a great place to work and November is always a really busy period for us but this year has been our busiest ever.
“We want to ensure that the team understand just how much we appreciate how hard everyone is working during this time and providing the occasional take-away lunch is a great way of doing that.
“Ashleigh is one of our most recent recruits and has been helping to make sure everyone stays fed.”
