What was the most memorable thing to happen in the North East in 1928?

What’s the answer? The opening of the iconic Tyne Bridge of course!

The truth is this is probably the correct answer but just a couple of months after the bridge was opened, a company was founded in Gateshead which is, some 90 years later, still helping North East residents and business owners sleep at night.

Northern Counties Guarantee Corporation Limited was founded on Christmas Eve 1928. 90 years later and under their trading name of NC Insurance, they’ve also just marked the 10th anniversary of their LLP which was set up when they moved into their current head office in Low Fell, Gateshead.

NC Insurance has marked its 90th & 10th anniversaries in style by recruiting 3 new staff this year and an impressive 8 new members of staff in the past 2 years.
