Festive Focus: Bdaily chats with Mummyjobs.co.uk founder Cheney Hamilton
Can you introduce yourself and your business to our readers?
“I started my career at The Northern Echo, spending 16 years in advertising for the local, regional and national press before starting a family in 2014. I was lucky to experience the best that flexible working had to offer with my first child, but wasn’t so lucky with my second.
“This lead to the creation of my own business, MummyJobs.co.uk, which is dedicated to raising awareness of the need for flexible working for parents, promoting roles for businesses that do ‘flex’ well.
“We also offer training for employers on how to reintegrate this forgotten workforce back into the workplace, as well as to really bring out the best in the skills and expertise they can offer.”
What was your company’s biggest achievement of the year?
“Our biggest achievement this year has been securing over 200 new flexible employers across the UK advertising their roles on our job boards. This resulted in us finishing runner up at the Lloyds Bank, National Business Awards, New Entrepreneur of the Year category.”
How would you approach 2018 differently, given the chance?
“I would have launched our consultancy service to employers sooner. This is a new service offered within our business for companies, bringing flexible working solutions on a one-to-one basis, and has been so popular in the last few months. It would have been nice to have offered it earlier.”
What are your company’s plans for the new year?
“Expansion, we plan on raising funds this year to aid in the recruitment of a website developer, as well as increasing our sales and marketing division. It’s a very exciting time in this space, the snowball is in freefall and it’s a great opportunity to get more employers into offering flex!”
What are your plans for the festive season?
“A big push for Annual Partners to launch with us in the New Year and trying to remember to take some time to get ready for our surprise new arrival expected March 3!”
